The front two soldiers are most probably New Zealanders from the cut of their tunics and their slouch hats. Five New Zealand soldiers who were on leave in Dublin during Easter 1916 helped to defend Trinity College. They were Sgt Nevin, Cpls Don, Garland, McLeod and Private Waring. I understand only one Australian soldier formed part of the defending garrison, Private McHugh. Leave A Comment Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
