The Pillar Room at the Rotunda November 16, 2013

///The Pillar Room at the Rotunda November 16, 2013

The Irish Volunteers Commemorative Organisation exhibition at the Rotunda on November 16, 2013 to mark the centenary of the founding of the Irish Volunteers.

In the afternoon we attended a ceremony in the Garden of Remembrance. This was by an Irish language group based in Dublin.

That evening in the Rotunda, Aengus O’Snodaigh launched a great book “The Rotunda, Birth place of the Irish Volunteers”. Great crowd at the book launch and other events celebrating the centenary of the founding of Óglaigh na hÉireann / The Irish Volunteers last evening.

Book on sale now in the Sinn Féin Bookshop.

I thought the presentation on the night was excellent and the booklet by
    Aengus O’Snodaigh is realy good.
A lot of people (including Me) would like more information on who signed up when they signed up what battalion they were in in 1916. I would love some pointers towards where
    this information can be got

I would have loved to have been there, but couldn’t as I live in the UK.
Could anyone give me some information about my second cousin George Gilmore.
I would love to know what he was like just as a person other than the political person so much has been written about him. I anyone knew him please give me the information.
    Regards,
    Heather
