I have been reading books on the struggles in Ireland those involved in the 1916 rising and the years that followed therafter. Many words have been written about those great men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom and libert of our country Ireland. Having just finished the book on Denis Barry written by his grand nephew it saddens me that Denis died a hero for Ireland but was not recognized by the agoverment leaders at the time. Those whom he stood by during elections decided at the time they did not want to share his family’s sad loss. I hope in time to come there will be a memorial raised for Denis and many like who were sadly forgotten. RIP Denis Barry.
