The Irish Volunteers Commemorative Organisation held a fantastic exhibition and display at Letterkenny Library, County Donegal this weekend. The exhibition was visited by local schools, and members of the general public. Also in attendance were members from the Unionist Tradition who paid a visit as part of cross border/community relations and understanding. Before heading to Letterkenny, we arrived in Belfast to meet with our President Mr. Pat O’Hagan for dinner, after which we were brought to the Rody McCorley Museum to to pick up some items from our collection there to display in Letterkenny, which included one of Michael Collins’ revolvers, artifacts belonging to Kevin Barry and the Forgotten Ten, and many more. This was a very successful project, and every young person who came through the doors was given a free copy of the Proclamation and an Irish Volunteers pencil for school. Well done to all involved, we were well received, well looked after and made to feel very welcome, go raibh maith agat.
