It was a great turnout in the Park Hotel in Dungarvan yesterday. Many people attended the road to revolution exhibtion of which the Irish Volunteers Organisation had a stand. Many thanks to all the historical archaeological and reenactment groups who attended. It was great to see old friends and meet new people. We were very grateful of the historians who spoke about Waterford during the 1913 – 1923 period ,including “The History of the War of Independence in West Waterford”, a subject covered comprehensively in his book “CRY OF THE CURLEW” by Tommy Mooney.
Thanks also goes to choir Deise na Mumhan from Ring who took time out of their busy schedule to play music and sing songs in the Irish language for us. It was also fantastic to speak in my native language to the people of Ring and Dungarvan. Tir gan Teanga, Tir Gan Ainm Last but not least thanks to Gabriel Doherty who invited us and to the Flynn family of the Park Hotel Dungarvan for their hospitality
