On Saturday, August 18th, the first biography of ‘The Bard’ will be launched in the Library
at Millstreet at 8pm. More details are attached.
The author, Barry Keane, who is a great-grandson of ‘The Bard’ will launch the book which
is published by the Aubane Historical Society
‘The Bard’, Sean Riobaird O Suilleabhain, was a renowned and legendary figure in North and Mid-Cork during the Land War of the late 19th century. After a show trial in Nenagh in 1891 he was sentenced to 24 years hard labour. But he survived and died in his bed in 1922.
