Margaret Spearin April 25, 2013 at 11:26 pmLog in to ReplyI am not sure if the J O’Reilly in the above photo is my grand uncle but he was definitely involved in the struggle. I would love to know more about his about his time with the IRA. Is there anywhere I can look at records from this time. Our Joe was from County Clare ( but could have been in Dublin at that time ). Joseph was born 1898 in Ballyglass Parteen County Clare and in 1922 he joined the Garda Siochana in 1922. Matt Ward February 6, 2013 at 12:43 amLog in to ReplyHi Tony I’ve been tracking down the family Tree and I’m not finding much info on the great grandfather , His name was John Ward and from Dublin He Married a girl from Camolin co. wexford Bridget Kelly , The only info I have on Bridget is that her family where involve in the cause and that she used to have a safe house for the Boys in Dublin . I would imagine with her history that my great grandfather would have also been involve. They only had two children one died young , the remaining child is my grandfather and never past much information down to his 12 kids. I see in the photo you have on the net , fantastic by the way , there are two Wards in it J Ward and N Ward . My great grandfathers name was John Ward , He would have been about 50 ish in 1913. I live in Irishtown myself and I see your from dolphins barn, there are a lot of names that look familiar to the area , even your own name Redmond is my wife’s grannies name . It’s a small world . Anyway thanks for your time , would there be a chance of getting a copy of that photo , would like to get a closer look , can’t really see the faces when I zoom in , hoping to see a familiar face in that picture , any other info would be great ,Kind regards Matt Ward Tony Redmond November 16, 2012 at 9:28 amLog in to ReplyI have a copy of the original picture above of F Coy, Batt II Dublin Brigade 1913-1921 If anyone wants a free copy contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org My Grandfather Peter Doran is in this photo, which hung in his home in Emerald Square,Dolphins Barn.
